Quinta das Brôlhas Reserva 2013 Douro - Portuguese Wine - red

Quinta das Brôlhas Reserva 2013 Douro

€16.90

This Quinta das Brôlhas Reserve Red 2013, produced from traditional Douro grape varieties – Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Souzão – grown on old vines, reflecting the character of the low-altitude Baixo Corgo sub-region, with its consistent quality year-on-year. A wine with bottle-ageing potential. Following fermentation, the wine was matured in French-oak barrels for a period of 18 months. Following its bottling, the wine continued to mature in-bottle for several months before its release. The 3.300 bottles were produced in total. Bright red-ruby in colour, the wine has an intense aroma, combining fresh fruit with more mature aromas, as well as hints of vanilla, coconut and chocolate, typical of its ageing in oak wood. In the mouth, its body is well balanced by its acidity and alcohol, with a prolonged finish, proving a fine accompaniment to well-seasoned red meat dishes.
